People who are in the SC category can now file complaints online and check the status of their complaints on the official website. On Ambedkar Jayanti, this new feature was put into place. The government will also put out apps for the portal that will be available on both the Google Play and Apple Store. The NCSC Grievance Management Portal is open at ncsc.negd.in.

The portal accepts audio, video, and text complaints on the commission’s website. The NCSC Grievance Management Portal will deliver fast, transparent justice to class complainants. NCSC authorities stated that around 67,000 complaints are pending. Due to staffing shortages, the Punjab State SC Commission has 5,000 outstanding complaints. All these issues will be handled and reviewed. According to the National Commission for Scheduled Castes website, the Commission’s duties and functions under Article 338 of the Constitution of India are to:

  • Investigate and monitor all matters relating to the safeguards provided for Scheduled Castes under the Constitution or under any other law for the time being or under any order of the government and evaluate the working of such safeguards.
  • To investigate Scheduled Castes’ rights and protections.
